KAA Gent coach Rik De Mil frustrated by Josué Vergara injury

KAA Gent coach Rik De Mil has expressed significant frustration following an injury to striker Josué Vergara during international duty with Panama. The club had reportedly warned the Panamanian football association about Vergara’s physical condition and advised against his participation, but the association chose to proceed with the player. Vergara subsequently suffered an injury during a match against Ecuador.

In addition to the setback with Vergara, the club is also managing the recovery of Bashir Ngom, who is rehabilitating from anterior cruciate ligament surgery.

On a more positive note, the club announced that striker Max Dean has returned to a positive mindset and is once again available for selection. After a difficult period following a failed transfer to Bolton Wanderers last summer, De Mil noted that Dean has regained his sharpness and enjoyment of the game.
