KAA Gent secures victory amid fatigue concerns and transfer bids

KAA Gent secured a 2-1 victory against RAAL La Louvière, maintaining a perfect record of six points from six matches in the Jupiler Pro League. Despite the win, coach Rik De Mil expressed concerns regarding player fatigue, noting that the squad has played six matches in three weeks. He highlighted that while fatigue is not an excuse for their goal of competing in European football, it remains a significant challenge.

In European competition, Gent is progressing through the Conference League qualifiers. Young player Matties Volckaert scored a crucial header against IFK Göteborg to help the team advance toward the League Phase. The club is now preparing for a decisive upcoming match against Hibernian.

On the transfer front, Gent has rejected a second bid of two million euros from English club Bolton for striker Max Dean. Although Dean has been absent from recent match squads due to transfer interests, De Mil stated that the player remains part of the team's plans if he can refocus on his performance.
