KAA Gent signs Guinean midfielder Alseny Soumah to long‑term youth contract

Belgian club KAA Gent confirmed the signing of 18‑year‑old Guinean midfielder Alseny Soumah from Académie Foot Talents de Guinée. Soumah received a contract running until the summer of 2031 and will join the club’s reserve side, Jong KAA Gent, where he is expected to develop as a defensive midfielder. The transfer continues Gent’s strategy of investing in young African talent, following earlier acquisitions of Ibrahima Cissé, El Hadji Seck, Mamadou Diallo and Abubakar Abdullahi. Club owner Sam Baro highlighted the focus on youth development and the club’s commitment to nurturing promising players from the continent.
