Kocaeli Book Fair hosts cultural workshops and accessibility programs
The 16th International Kocaeli Book Fair, organized by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, is hosting a diverse range of cultural and educational activities. The event has seen significant participation from students exploring various book genres and authors.
To promote inclusivity, the fair has implemented accessibility measures, including sign language interpretation for various talks and seminars. This has allowed hearing-impaired visitors, such as athlete İrem Topaloğlu, to actively participate in the event's programming.
Educational and cultural workshops are also a key feature. Archaeologist and author Kaan Polatlar held a session discussing mythology and the historical significance of Göbeklitepe, suggesting it may be more closely linked to Paleolithic culture. Additionally, researcher Uğur Ünal hosted a workshop on Turkish coffee culture, combining literature with practical demonstrations of traditional coffee preparation.
