Kaatsheuvel hosts Safety Day and Seniors Meetup in August and September

On Saturday 5 September, the municipality of Loon op Zand organized a free Safety Day on Anton Pieckplein in Kaatsheuvel. The event featured police, municipal enforcement officers, the fire brigade, first‑aid teams, the Regional Information and Expertise Centre and youth work organisations. Visitors could watch demonstrations, learn about digital safety at the police’s Mobile Media Lab and take part in a children’s treasure hunt, receiving an official safety diploma at the end.

On Tuesday 11 August, seniors aged 55 and over from Waalwijk, Loon op Zand and surrounding areas were invited to a meet‑and‑greet at Restaurant De Kapel in Kaatsheuvel. The gathering introduced participants to the Seniorenmaatjes Langstraat programme, which offers walks, bike trips, games and other social activities. Attendance was free, with refreshments at personal cost, and interested seniors were asked to register in advance via email.
