Kaban Mahallesi converts abandoned school into community facility

Residents of Kaban Mahallesi in the Olur district have converted a long-abandoned school building into a community facility. The building, originally constructed in 1961 and closed in 1999, has been repurposed to serve as a condolence house, guesthouse, and mukhtar office.

The renovation project was a collaborative effort involving the Olur District Governorate, the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, and local philanthropists. The project took approximately one year to complete at a cost of roughly 1.95 million lira.

During the opening ceremony, local officials and residents gathered to commemorate the facility, which has been named in honor of local martyrs. The new center is intended to meet the community's needs for social gatherings and hosting guests.
