Kabarnet University College construction enters foundation stage
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has provided an update on the construction of Kabarnet University College in Baringo County. The project is being managed under the direct oversight of the Ministry of Defence and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to ensure financial accountability and timely execution.
Site clearance is complete, and construction teams have transitioned to deep foundation works. The first phase of the project aims to establish essential infrastructure, including science and tuition facilities, a library, an auditorium, an administration block, and a 1,000-bed student hostel. Additionally, the M-PESA Foundation is assisting with the renovation and outfitting of two computer laboratories.
While permanent construction continues, the college has already begun academic operations using temporary facilities at Moi Teachers Training College in Seretunin, operating under the mentorship of Moi University.
