Hikaru Sato, a 25-year-old man known by the nickname ‘Uni’ within the Toyoko area of Kabukicho, has been arrested on suspicion of violating the Child Pornography Prohibition Act. He is accused of filming sexually explicit videos of a 16-year-old high school girl at a hotel in November 2025.
Footage reportedly shows the victim in an intoxicated state, with audio capturing Sato encouraging her to ingest medication while claiming, ‘cough medicine is not bad for your body.’ Authorities believe the incident occurred during an overdose. Sato has admitted to the charges, stating his ‘ethics and crisis management had become lax’ due to his long-term presence in Kabukicho.
Police recovered approximately 100 explicit videos from his smartphone, roughly 20 of which appear to involve minors. This arrest follows a series of similar crackdowns in the district, where influential figures or ‘leaders’ of youth groups have been repeatedly arrested for crimes involving minors, including sexual exploitation and organized prostitution.
