Kacey Musgraves reaches first solo Billboard Hot 100 top 40

Country music artist Kacey Musgraves has achieved her first solo top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song “Mexico Honey.” The track, which features Spanish melodic influences, reached a peak of number 40.

“Mexico Honey” is featured on her sixth studio album, “Middle of Nowhere,” which was released in May. The album draws on bluegrass and Tejano influences and serves as a homage to her hometown of Golden, Texas. Musgraves, who divides her time between Texas, Tennessee, and Mexico, has noted that her connection to Mexico is a significant part of her current life and musical inspiration.
