Kada gold project increases resource estimates to 2.08 million ounces

The Kada gold project in Guinea has reported a significant increase in mineral resources, now estimated at 2.08 million ounces. This is a substantial rise from the 923,000 ounces reported in 2023, driven by 81,361 meters of additional drilling.

Of these resources, 1.27 million ounces are now classified as ‘indicated’, providing a higher level of geological confidence than previously inferred resources. While this technical milestone strengthens the project's potential, a definitive feasibility study (DFS) is still required before industrial mining can begin.

The development comes amid a broader shift in Guinea's mining sector. Official statistics from the first quarter of 2025 show that artisanal gold exports (367,162 ounces) still outpace industrial mining exports (183,976 ounces). In response, the Guinean government is increasingly prioritizing local refining and processing to prevent the export of raw gold.
