Kadath announces dark fantasy RPG Under Mythos for Switch

Kadath, a new studio founded by Lunar RPG producer Yoichi Miyaji, has announced its debut title, ‘Under Mythos’, for the Nintendo Switch. The game is scheduled for release in 2028.

Under Mythos is a dark fantasy JRPG that blends hot spring inn management with dungeon exploration and action combat. The narrative follows a lone cat that travels to another world in search of its mother, eventually finding work at a mysterious inn. While the gameplay involves peaceful days managing the inn and caring for guests, the story features a world gradually descending into madness. Players will venture into dungeons to gather food and resources to support the inn, facing action-based combat against grotesque beings.

The project features a development team with credits from major franchises, including Pokémon, Tales of the Abyss, Grandia, and Lunar. This includes graphic designer and illustrator Atsuko Nishida, known for her work on Pokémon designs.
