Kade Davey becomes first Indigenous Australian to drive Gen3 Supercar

Kade Davey, an 18-year-old racer of Martu and Manyjilyjarra heritage, has become the first Indigenous Australian to drive a Gen3 Supercar. The milestone occurred at Queensland Raceway when Davey drove a Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang during a general practice session.

The opportunity was facilitated through a partnership between Dick Johnson Racing and Racing Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating motorsport and STEM pathways for young Indigenous Australians. Davey, a former Western Australian Karting Champion, has been involved with Racing Together since 2023.

Davey is currently competing in the GR Cup series, where he holds eighth place in the standings. His upcoming schedule includes a round at Mount Panorama as part of the Repco Bathurst 1000 support program.
