Kader Güzel: Experienced female welder works in Oltu

Kader Güzel, a 44-year-old welder with nearly 30 years of experience, has become a prominent figure in the Oltu district of Erzurum, Turkey. After spending much of her career in Ankara, where she learned the trade from her brother at age 14, Güzel returned to her hometown.

Following encouragement from Oltu Mayor Adem Çelebi, Güzel secured a position at Tutkun Çelik İmalat Makine Bakım Sanayi in the local Organized Industrial Zone. Her employer, Ahmet Mercan, noted that while there were initial hesitations regarding hiring a female welder, her professional expertise and experience quickly proved her value to the workshop.

Güzel expressed her desire to serve as a role model for other women, emphasizing that women are capable of performing any job and encouraging them to acquire professional skills to ensure their independence.
