Kadin Indonesia promotes IEU-CEPA to expand Swedish investment
Kadin Indonesia is working to strengthen economic partnerships between Indonesia and Sweden through the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Bernardino M. Vega, Kadin Indonesia's Vice Chairman for Foreign Relations, noted that the agreement is expected to bring significant structural changes to the market, including the removal of approximately 98.5 percent of Indonesian tariffs on European Union goods, increased access to computer and telecommunications services, and enhanced intellectual property protections.
Currently, approximately 80 Swedish companies are operating in Indonesia, having established a business ecosystem that includes local distributors, suppliers, and service providers. Kadin views the IEU-CEPA as a vital tool to expand trade, investment, and technology cooperation as Indonesia's economy continues to grow.
