Kadir İnanır estate dispute enters legal battle
A legal dispute has emerged regarding the estate of late Turkish cinema icon Kadir İnanır, who passed away at age 77. A court hearing at Beykoz Adliyesi to read his three separate wills was postponed to December 17, 2026, due to difficulties in serving official notifications to some of the 28 legal heirs.
Reports suggest İnanır’s estate is valued at approximately 1 billion TL. This includes real estate in Istanbul and Ordu worth 650 million TL, over 200 million TL in cash, and a collection of luxury watches and valuables worth 50 million TL. A notable part of the inheritance is a collection of over 3,000 frog figurines valued at roughly 35 million TL. Additionally, his film and television works are expected to generate significant royalty income for decades.
The dispute centers on allegations that İnanır’s final will leaves the bulk of his assets to his long-term partner, Jülide Kural, effectively bypassing his relatives. His nephew, Levent İnanır, has publicly challenged the validity of the will, questioning his uncle’s mental capacity and willpower during his recent medical treatments. The situation has escalated into personal conflict, with allegations of threats and harassment involving Levent İnanır and his former wife, Neslihan Acar.
