Kadir İnanır's 1 billion TL estate sparks legal dispute

Following the death of legendary Turkish actor Kadir İnanır, a legal dispute has emerged regarding his estimated 1 billion TL estate. The actor, who passed away at age 77, left a 2022 will prepared before a notary, accompanied by a medical report and witnesses.

According to his lawyer, Bişar Abdi Alınak, the will leaves his entire material and spiritual assets, including real estate, bank accounts, luxury collections, and copyrights, to his partner of 27 years, Jülide Kural. The will also grants permission for a documentary about his life and the establishment of foundations or art centers in his name. If Kural is not alive at the time of the will's reading, the assets are to be distributed equally among the Human Rights Association (IHD), the Turkey Human Rights Foundation (TIHV), and the Nesin Foundation.

The legal process at Beykoz Courthouse has faced delays. A hearing to read the will was postponed to December 17, 2026, because official notifications had not reached all 28 potential heirs. This delay has fueled tension among family members. One nephew, Levent İnanır, has questioned the actor's mental capacity at the time of the will's revision and indicated intentions to pursue legal action if the outcome is unfavorable. The estate reportedly includes significant real estate in Istanbul and Ordu, a luxury watch collection, and a unique collection of over 3,000 frog figurines.
