Kadıköy Çizgi Festivali begins in Istanbul

The seventh Kadıköy Çizgi Festivali has commenced at Yoğurtçu Park in Istanbul, organized by the Kadıköy Municipality Cartoon House. The event brings together enthusiasts of comics, manga, animation, and caricature through a variety of activities including artist meetings, exhibitions, workshops, live drawings, and film screenings.

A major highlight of this year's festival is the ‘International Lines’ exhibition, featuring works by guest artists Ali Rastroo, André Carrilho, and Fabien Toulmé. Additionally, the festival includes a memorial exhibition titled ‘Beyond the Line: Mustafa Delioğlu’ to honor the late artist, alongside selections from the Illustrators Platform.

Attendees can explore various stalls offering rare comic books, caricature magazines, fanzines, and illustration products. The festival also features signing sessions, panels, and portrait drawing stations where master artists create live sketches for visitors. Kadıköy Mayor Mesut Kösedağı attended the opening, emphasizing the district's commitment to being a center for culture and art.
