Black Bullet light-novel series returns after 12-year hiatus

The popular light-novel series Black Bullet is returning after a 12-year hiatus under the new title, Black Bullet: New World Order. Announced by Dengeki Bunko, the project is not a simple reprint but a revised and expanded reboot of the original series by author Shiden Kanzaki and illustrator Saki Ukai.

The publishing rollout is scheduled to begin in November 2026, featuring two books released monthly for four consecutive months. This plan includes a complete rewrite of the original seventh volume, which will be split into two volumes, before the story branches into entirely new content.

To celebrate the revival, the original Japanese voice actors Yuki Kaji and Rina Hidaka will return for a new promotional video. Additionally, the series' anime adaptation will be broadcast in a marathon on ABEMA in October 2026.
