Kaduna Governor resolves 10-year land dispute in Igabi
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has moved to resolve a decade-long land dispute in the Igabi local government area involving inhabitants and the military. While the legal matter remains in court, the Governor directed the Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) to distribute land titles to 704 households.
The affected communities include Unguwan Malam Auta, Unguwan Alhassan, Unguwan Lauya, Unguwan Aboki, Unguwan Danjuma, Unguwan Musa, and Unguwan Yohana. The dispute had previously displaced more than 2,000 people from a population of over 5,000 living in the area.
In addition to residential plots, the administration is providing farmlands to support the local population, as approximately 90% of the residents are farmers. Governor Sani also pledged five trucks of free fertilizer and directed state officials to coordinate social interventions to assist the communities in recovering.
