Kaduna PDP candidate demands security action after Millennium City kidnappings

Usman Shehu Bawa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Kaduna State, has called for urgent security measures following the abduction of four residents from Rahusa Estate in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on the night of Monday, October 6, 2026. This follows a similar attack in Babban Saura PW a week prior, which resulted in one death and several abductions. Bawa expressed concern that residents in Millennium City and surrounding areas continue to live in fear due to rising insecurity.

Bawa urged the Kaduna State Government to provide stronger leadership by deploying additional security personnel to vulnerable communities. He also recommended collaborating with estate associations to provide streetlights, patrol vehicles, and emergency communication lines. Furthermore, he advocated for the engagement and equipping of local vigilante groups to support conventional security agencies.
