Kaduna State denies N2.3 trillion APC rally spending allegation

The Kaduna State Government has dismissed a viral letter alleging that Governor Uba Sani approved N2.3 trillion to host a presidential campaign rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The government described the document as fraudulent and misleading, intended to damage the governor’s reputation.

Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, noted several inconsistencies in the purported letter, including the misspelling of the governor’s surname as ‘Uba Sai’ and the unauthorized reproduction of his signature. The government highlighted that the alleged expenditure of N2.3 trillion is financially implausible, as it exceeds twice the state’s total 2026 budget of N985.92 billion.

The controversy emerged amid public outcry regarding security challenges in the state. Critics and residents have expressed frustration over unchecked banditry in agrarian communities and Southern Kaduna, which has disrupted farming and education, contrasting the alleged political spending with the ongoing security and humanitarian crises.
