Kaduna State officials emphasize administrative oversight and grassroots politics

The Kaduna State Government has issued guidance to newly inaugurated governing boards, emphasizing that their role should focus on policy direction and oversight rather than day-to-day administration. During the inauguration of boards for the Schools Quality Assurance Authority, Media Corporation, Scholarship and Loans Board, and the Livestock Regulatory Authority, Secretary to the State Government Dr. AbdulKadir Muázu Meyere advised members to adhere to the Public Procurement Act and maintain high standards of accountability.

Separately, Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, addressed the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections. He dismissed the influence of social media trends as a reliable indicator of electoral strength, asserting that Governor Uba Sani’s re-election will be decided by grassroots voters. Mamman-Lagos highlighted the critical role of rural communities and women in determining election outcomes, urging political parties to prioritize grassroots mobilization over online popularity.
