Kadzidło stabbing: Court increases attacker's sentence to 18 years

The Court of Appeal in Białystok has issued a final, binding sentence for Albert G., who attacked his peers with a knife at a school in Kadzidło on November 29, 2023. While the Ostrołęka District Court initially sentenced the 19-year-old to 15 years in prison, the appellate court increased the term to 18 years.

The court also adjusted the financial compensation ordered for the victims. The previous total of various amounts, including 50,000 PLN and 30,000 PLN, was modified to include an increased payment of 100,000 PLN for one of the victims.

Following the sentencing, a new legal development has emerged. An attorney representing two of the victims has filed a notification regarding a potential crime related to the organization and supervision of classes at the school. The prosecution is now reviewing whether negligence occurred in the school's oversight during the time of the attack.
