KAE Irakleis seeks new venue after stadium issues impact BCL participation

KAE Irakleis leadership has addressed critical infrastructure and roster challenges ahead of the new season. Vice President Pavlos Tsakiris revealed that the club was unable to compete in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) due to stadium limitations. He noted that the Ivanofei stadium is outdated, has insufficient capacity, and cannot generate the revenue necessary for the club's current professional ambitions.

To resolve this, the club is engaging in discussions with local and central political authorities to explore the possibility of a new venue or significant upgrades. Tsakiris emphasized that while the club owns its stadium, its current state is unsuitable for A1 category competition.

On the competitive front, President and CEO Giorgos Pantazopoulos stated that the team aims to secure a position in the top eight of the league. Head coach Zoran Lukic confirmed that the roster is nearly complete, with the club currently searching for one additional guard to finalize preparations.
