Kagoshima Prefecture offers free Shinkansen tickets to tourists

Kagoshima Prefecture has launched a campaign in partnership with the travel booking platform Klook to encourage international tourists to visit the southern tip of Kyushu. The initiative offers free one-way Shinkansen bullet train tickets for journeys from Hakata to Kagoshima.

To qualify, travelers must arrive in Japan via Fukuoka Airport and book at least one night at a participating hotel in Kagoshima through Klook. The promotion is currently available to travelers from the United States, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China. Eligible participants can redeem a code for a one-way fare valued up to 11,420 yen (approximately US$72).
