KAHMI Makassar celebrates 60th anniversary

The Makassar Regional Board of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Students Movement (MD KAHMI) celebrated the organization's 60th anniversary at Pantai Indah Bosowa on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event included communal exercise, ceremonial speeches, and the cutting of a tumpeng.

During the celebration, Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin expressed his appreciation for the organization, noting its high concentration of academics and experienced figures. He encouraged KAHMI to remain a strategic partner to the government by contributing ideas and thoughts toward regional development.

Prof. Andi Pangerang Moenta, Chairman of MD KAHMI Makassar, outlined two strategic programs implemented during his two terms: the development of Majelis Rayon across four campuses in Makassar and the construction of a mosque and a KAHMI village in Malino. He expressed hope that future leadership would build upon these foundations to strengthen the organization's societal contributions.
