Kahone: Armed commando raids villa occupied by Indian nationals

An armed group of approximately fifteen masked individuals attacked a villa in Kahone during the night of August 28 to 29, 2026. The targets of the raid were Indian nationals residing in the property.

The assailants, equipped with rifles, machetes, and iron bars, gained entry by forcing the rear gate of the residence. During the robbery, the group reportedly fired warning shots into the air to intimidate the occupants and prevent resistance while they searched several bedrooms for valuables.

The attackers fled the scene with 680,000 CFA francs and a Samsung mobile phone. While no fatalities were reported, the scale and violence of the operation have raised significant security concerns regarding residential safety in the area. The gendarmerie has opened an investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine their route of escape.
