Kahramanmaraş International August Fair Draws Thousands of Visitors

The Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality organized the International Traditional August Fair (KAFUM) at the Kahramanmaraş Fair Center. On the opening day, the venue attracted tens of thousands of visitors of all ages, filling the area with stalls, concert stages, workshops and cultural seminars. Youth and children were especially enthusiastic, attending concerts, games and a variety of interactive activities.

For the second day, the fair offered two dedicated children’s programs: a live performance by the popular TRT Çocuk character İbi titled “Galaktik Serüven” at 19:00, followed by a musical storytelling session with author Zeynep Betül Akyıldız at 20:00. Both events were promoted as family‑friendly entertainment designed to spark imagination and cultural interest.

Municipal officials highlighted the fair’s role in reviving a historic social and cultural tradition for the city, noting that the month‑long program will continue to provide concerts, exhibitions and community gatherings through the end of August.
