Kahramanmaraş International Cycling Race draws 175 riders from 31 countries

The third edition of the Tour of Kahramanmaraş, organized by the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, completed its first stage on 4 August 2026. The 128‑kilometre course ran through Türkoğlu, Beyoğlu, Demirciler, Kapıçam and Ali Kayası and featured 175 cyclists representing 31 nations. Italy’s Kyrylo Tsarenko won the stage, with Abner Santiago Umba Lopez second and Malaysia’s Adne Willemjan Van Angelen third. The race is part of the UCI 2026 programme and is intended to showcase Kahramanmaraş’s recovery after the 2023 earthquake.

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality’s Continental Cycling Team also took part in the event, highlighting the city’s ambition to promote itself on the world cycling stage. Team coordinator İlker Cömert said the participation supports the “World City Muğla” motto and helps raise Kahramanmaraş’s international profile. The competition will continue with a second stage the next day, a third stage on Thursday, and a final stage scheduled for 7 August.
