Kahramanmaraş and Adana report fatal domestic violence and accidents
Several tragic incidents have been reported in Turkey involving domestic violence, accidental poisoning, and recovery from trauma.
In Kahramanmaraş's Afşin district, a man identified as A. K. killed his former wife, A. O., before committing suicide. The victim had previously obtained a restraining order against the suspect. The incident occurred in the Yeşilyurt neighborhood, and the perpetrator used the same weapon for both acts.
In Adana's Ceyhan district, 25-year-old Asya Aydoğan was shot and killed by her estranged husband, Yusuf Aydoğan, during a divorce process. The suspect also shot and injured his sister-in-law, Medine G., before being apprehended by police.
In a separate incident in Elbistan, Kahramanmaraş, a 14-year-old boy, Oğuzhan Çelik, was hospitalized after accidentally consuming hydrochloric acid, mistaking it for water in a workplace setting. Medical experts noted severe chemical burns to his esophagus and stomach, though he is currently recovering.
Additionally, 14-year-old Ecrin Deniz Karaca, who survived a fall from a 12th-story window in Adana, has completed her treatment and fulfilled a personal goal of distributing toys and food to children in need.
