Kahramanmaraş advances infrastructure with new water plant and stadium

Kahramanmaraş is advancing several major infrastructure and sports projects as part of its post-earthquake reconstruction efforts.

The Kılavuzlu Water Treatment Plant and Transmission Line have officially entered service following a 175 million TL investment. Managed by KASKİ under the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, the facility has a capacity to treat 200 liters of water per second. It is designed to supply drinking and utility water to the Kazancıklı, Kılavuzlu, Gelemenli, Kavlaklı, and Kazım Karabekir neighborhoods, as well as the Organized Industrial Zone, while reducing the load on the Karasu source.

Simultaneously, construction is nearing completion on the new Kahramanmaraş Stadium in the Dulkadiroğlu district. The 2 billion TL project features a 17,500-seat capacity and covers approximately 47,000 square meters. While grandstand manufacturing is complete, work continues on the steel roof structure and technical installations, including electricity, natural gas, water, lighting, and ventilation systems. The facility is intended to host football matches as well as various social and cultural events.
