Yeni Parti pre-selection in Bandırma marked by tension

Tensions flared during the Yeni Parti district chairmanship pre-selection in Bandırma, held at the Barış Manço Cultural Center. The conflict arose after the program, scheduled for 11:00, was delayed due to extended protocol speeches.

Party members expressed frustration, calling for speakers to be brief to allow presidential candidates to speak. This led to verbal altercations between members and officials. Bandırma Mayor Dursun Mirza responded sharply to those requesting shorter speeches, accusing some members of attempting to sabotage the congress.

Erden Köybaşı, the Yeni Parti Balıkesir Provincial Chairman, intervened to call for calm and discipline, warning that such disputes provide negative material for the press and hinder the party's success. Mirza maintained that he would not shorten his speech, emphasizing the importance of the selection process for establishing a new order within the party.
