Kahta State Hospital performs first LBBAP pacemaker procedure
Kahta State Hospital in the Kahta district of Adıyaman has successfully performed the Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing (LBBAP) method for the first time. This modern pacemaker treatment aims to stimulate the heart from a point closer to its natural electrical conduction system.
The procedure was carried out by cardiology specialist Dr. Ramazan Yasdıbaş and his team. During the operation, a specialized pacemaker electrode was advanced through a blood vessel into the right ventricle and placed near the left bundle area, utilizing X-ray imaging and electrical recordings of the heart.
LBBAP is designed to help the heart function more naturally and electrically, specifically aiming to preserve the heart's contraction function for patients requiring long-term pacemaker use. Hospital Chief Physician Dr. Mustafa Akel stated that the successful application of this method is a significant step toward increasing the quality of healthcare services provided at the facility.
