Kahta State Hospital surgeons remove 42 bladder stones from 82-year-old patient

Medical professionals at Kahta State Hospital in Adıyaman, Turkey, successfully removed 42 bladder stones from an 82-year-old patient, Selim Bozkurt. The patient had sought treatment following complaints of severe abdominal pain.

Bozkurt, who had previously undergone multiple surgeries for similar issues using various methods, was found to have stones totaling approximately 8 centimeters in size. The surgical team, led by Urology Specialist Dr. İsmail Eyüp Dilek and Dr. İbrahim Sibal, performed an open prostatectomy to extract the stones individually.

Following the procedure, the patient's health was reported to be stable, and he was discharged after completing his treatment. Hospital Chief Physician Dr. Mustafa Akel praised the surgical team and emphasized the hospital's capacity to perform complex and sensitive operations using their specialized staff and technical infrastructure.
