Kai Cenat faces lawsuits over alleged bodyguard assault and event negligence
Streamer Kai Cenat is facing multiple legal challenges. In one lawsuit, Dustin Batista alleges he was “struck, punched, and assaulted” by Cenat’s bodyguard, Lamont “Cuddy” Gilbert, during New York’s Dominican Day Parade in 2025. Batista is suing Gilbert for assault and battery, while also holding Cenat liable for negligent hiring and vicarious liability. Cenat has responded with a filing claiming that Gilbert was the “initial aggressor” who provoked and escalated the confrontation.
Additionally, Cenat is facing a lawsuit related to his Streamer University initiative. Caleb Gottfried, also known as SNVRK, is seeking over $330,000 in damages following an application event at John Jay College in New York City. Gottfried alleges he nearly suffered heat strokes due to “negligent crowd control and total failure to provide standard safety and ventilation measures.” He also claims his image was used in a commercial without his consent or a signed release.
