KAI Commuter adjusts service patterns amid fleet maintenance
KAI Commuter is adjusting its service patterns in response to fleet maintenance issues. Following the decision to send seven new KRL series iE305 trains into comprehensive inspections starting September 7, 2026, the operator has faced capacity shortages, particularly on the Bogor Red Line.
To address passenger density, KAI Commuter has added 13 trips back to the Bogor Commuter Line starting September 10, 2026. This increase brings the total Jabodetabek commuter trips to 1,061. The adjustment involves re-engineering the circulation of train sets, including utilizing sets from the Tanjung Priok line to support the Bogor route.
Separately, rumors have circulated regarding the potential conversion of Soekarno-Hatta Airport trains into a 'pink line' KRL service connecting Jakarta Kota and Tanjung Priok. KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda stated that these reports are currently under discussion and that official updates will be released once a decision is finalized.
