KAI denies rumors of railway track closures near Tanggul Station

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 9 Jember has denied viral social media claims suggesting that railway tracks near Tanggul Station were closed due to the Haul Habib Soleh Tanggul religious event.

Cahyo Widianto, Manager of Law and Public Relations for KAI Daop 9 Jember, clarified that all train services continued to operate normally and according to schedule. He explained that video footage showing bamboo and wooden barriers near the JPL 91 area of Tanggul Station did not represent a track closure. Instead, these barriers were installed to manage the movement of thousands of pilgrims and prevent them from entering active railway areas, ensuring both public safety and operational continuity.

To maintain safety, KAI implemented a dynamic sterilization system where staff clear the area of crowds whenever a train is scheduled to pass. The company noted that these measures were coordinated in advance with local police and the Jember Regency Government. KAI urged the public to remain critical of social media misinformation and to verify operational information through official channels.
