White House launches arcade website featuring games on border policy

The White House has launched ‘Arcade,’ an online platform featuring five retro-style video games designed to promote the administration’s policy priorities. The games utilize mechanics from classics like Snake, Tetris, and Flappy Bird to illustrate various political initiatives.

Key titles include ‘Rio Run,’ a Snake-inspired game where players control border czar Tom Homan to intercept migrants along the Rio Grande, and ‘Build the Wall,’ a Tetris-style game focused on constructing a border barrier. Other games include ‘Supply Line,’ which relates to the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ initiative, ‘Flappy Bill,’ featuring a bald eagle, and ‘Trump Savings Tycoon,’ which involves collecting funds for ‘Trump Accounts’—a program providing $1,000 deposits for children born between 2025 and 2028.

The administration stated the initiative aims to ‘innovate and tell the story of the President’s many accomplishments’ through a ‘culture of fun and winning.’

However, the launch has drawn sharp criticism from human rights organizations and activists. Critics argue the games trivialize serious issues like mass deportation and border security, with some describing the platform as a way to ‘normalize’ the suffering of migrants. Additionally, the Tetris Company has denied involvement in the ‘Build the Wall’ game and warned of potential legal action regarding copyright infringement.
