Kaia Gerber discusses mental health, body image, and family struggles

In a series of recent interviews, including a cover story for Vogue, model and actress Kaia Gerber has opened up about her personal struggles with body image, mental health, and family dynamics.

Gerber revealed that she has experienced disordered eating and has faced significant pressure due to Hollywood's aesthetic standards and the tendency for the media to compare her to her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford. She criticized the negativity surrounding body comments, stating, “Negativity has never saved anyone’s life.”

Addressing her family life, Gerber discussed how her brother Presley Gerber’s decade-long struggle with substance abuse and mental health impacted their household. She noted that she often identified as “the easy one” to avoid adding more burden to her parents, Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford. She expressed pride in Presley’s decision to be open about his journey.

Gerber also addressed the misogynistic labels she has faced regarding her past public romances, such as being called a “serial dater.” She spoke about her current relationship with actor Lewis Pullman, describing it as a low-pressure and healing dynamic that allows her to be herself.
