Kaiju No. 8 anime to conclude with feature film in 2027

The anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, Kaiju No. 8, is scheduled to conclude with a feature film titled ‘Kaiju No. 8: The Final Mission’ in 2027. The film will serve as the series' conclusion arc.

Production I.G. and TOHO Animation are handling the project, with director Shigeyuki Miya returning to oversee the film. The staff includes art director Shinji Kimura, with character designs and kaiju art expected from Studio Khara. The film's slogan is ‘The era of humans has come to an end.’

While a specific release date has not been announced, the film is expected to hit theaters in Japan. The announcement follows the first season, which premiered in April 2024, and the second season, which aired in July 2025.
