Kaiju No. 8 reaches 20 million sales and announces final anime season

The manga series Kaiju No. 8, written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, has reached a milestone of 20 million copies in circulation. This achievement follows the conclusion of the manga on July 18, 2025, after running on the Shonen Jump+ platform since July 2020.

In addition to the sales milestone, an anime adaptation titled ‘Kaiju No. 8: Final Chapter’ has been confirmed. Announced during Jump Festa 2026, this concluding season will adapt the remaining manga chapters through the series finale at chapter 129, including the Second Wave and Last Wave arcs. Studio Production I.G is returning to animate the project, with Studio Khara handling creature designs.
