Kaiken Sur: Sustainable urban development project proposed for El Chaltén

Governor Claudio Vidal met with representatives from Faro Verde to discuss the Kaiken Sur project, a private sustainable urban development initiative located on the Estancia Santa Margarita lands near El Chaltén, Santa Cruz.

The project aims to establish a planned urbanization and land subdivision outside the current municipal boundaries. A central focus of the proposal is the integration of clean energy alternatives from the design phase to ensure orderly growth that respects the area's environmental characteristics.

Because the development is located outside the municipal limits, it must undergo provincial evaluation and comply with specific regulatory standards. Officials also discussed the potential for these energy solutions to serve as a model for future infrastructure needs in El Chaltén.
