Kail Boudache signs with Olympique Lyon after starring in Nice's Ligue 1 survival

Nineteen‑year‑old striker Kail Boudache scored the decisive goal in OGC Nice's 4‑1 win over AS Saint‑Étienne that secured the club's place in Ligue 1. Despite Nice's attempts to persuade him to stay, Boudache rejected a professional contract from his youth club.

Having passed his medical with Olympique Lyon, he is set to sign a three‑year professional deal on Monday, marking his first senior contract. The move follows the departure of teammate Elye Wahi to Eintracht Frankfurt and underscores Lyon's confidence in Boudache's potential for further development.

Nice made a last‑minute effort to retain the player, but officials acknowledged the likelihood of his transfer to Lyon as minimal.
