Kailash Vijayvargiya faces backlash over remark on woman councillor

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya is facing intense political criticism following a viral video in which he appears to comment on the physical appearance of a BJP woman councillor, Sandhya Yadav.

The incident occurred during a public development program in Indore. In the footage, as Yadav approaches a microphone, Vijayvargiya is heard remarking, “Sandhya didi ki bhi chaudai badh gayi hai thodi si,” which translates to “Sister’s width has also increased a little.”

The Indian National Congress has condemned the remark as body-shaming and has demanded a public apology from the minister. Congress leaders, including spokesperson Abhinav Barolia and social media head Supriya Shrinate, have called for Vijayvargiya’s resignation, accusing the BJP of hypocrisy regarding its stated commitment to the dignity and respect of women.
