Kais Saied calls for unified Arab action in meeting with Arab League chief
Tunisian President Kais Saied met with the new Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, at the Carthage Palace to discuss the necessity of modernizing and unifying Arab collective action. Saied emphasized that Arab nations must strengthen their cooperation in economic, security, and scientific research sectors to ensure a more influential voice in global decision-making.
During the meeting, Saied highlighted the importance of addressing rapid global transformations through solidarity and institutional reform within the Arab League. He warned against regional fragmentation and external attempts to divide the region, referencing the historical Sykes-Picot model.
A central priority discussed was the defense of Arab rights, specifically the right of the Palestinian people to establish a fully sovereign and independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. Saied also called for embracing technological and communication revolutions to enhance the international presence and effectiveness of the unified Arab system.
