Kaiserslautern to host sports showcase at 2026 Volunteer Day
Organized sports will be a key feature of the 23rd State-wide Volunteer Day in Rhineland-Palatinate, scheduled for August 30, 2026, in Kaiserslautern. Seven different clubs and associations, including the Sportbund Pfalz and the Landessportbund Rheinland-Pfalz, will participate to showcase various athletic activities.
Dedicated areas for ‘Sport and Play’ will be located on Fruchthallstraße and at Stiftsplatz. These zones aim to encourage families and children to engage in physical activity by exploring components such as strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility, and speed through play. Participating organizations include the Rhineland-Palatinate Dart Association, TSG 1861 Kaiserslautern, the Tennis Association of the Palatinate, the Rhineland-Palatinate Association for Disability and Rehabilitative Sport, SkateRats Kaiserslautern, and the ‘Integration through Sport’ program.
The event will feature a marketplace with more than 50 clubs and organizations presenting their work. The day begins at 10:00 AM with an opening service, followed by a program including music, dance, discussions, and award ceremonies. The festivities will be officially opened by Minister President Gordon Schnieder and Mayor Beate Kimmel.
