She said she was not surprised by Trump’s remarks, noted that such attacks occur regularly in the Oval Office, and emphasized that the focus should remain on the reporting and unanswered questions rather than on a personal feud. Trump later reposted an AI‑generated image on Truth Social that placed Collins’s face on Mulvaney’s body.
