Kaitlan Collins predicts Trump resistance to impeachment

CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins has predicted that President Donald Trump would likely respond with significantly more aggression to congressional oversight and potential impeachment if Democrats win control in the upcoming midterm elections. Speaking on the ‘Pivot with Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway’ podcast, Collins suggested that the White House and the Department of Justice would offer much stronger pushback than seen during Trump’s first term.

This assessment comes as House Democrats have already introduced several impeachment resolutions. Collins noted that a shift in the balance of power in Washington would place the presidency in a ‘very different world,’ characterized by increased friction between the executive branch and a Democratic-led Congress. While podcast co-host Kara Swisher suggested Trump might attempt to act as a bipartisan negotiator, Collins argued that his defensive posture would likely intensify in response to new investigations.
