Kaito Oda to attend Nagoya Grampus match for kick-in ceremony

World No. 1 wheelchair tennis player Kaito Oda will visit Toyota Stadium on August 22 for the Nagoya Grampus match against Gamba Osaka. As part of the ‘Shachi Grand Festival’ event, Oda will participate in a kick-in ceremony on the pitch just before the 19:00 kickoff.

Oda, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age nine and transitioned from aspiring to be a professional soccer player to a world-leading tennis athlete, will also hold a talk show at the West Event Plaza. The appearance is held in conjunction with ‘Niyugumi DAY,’ supporting the Aichi Children's Hospice Project, an NPO that assists children living with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
