Kaito Takahashi to star in dance film ‘Prism’

Kaito Takahashi, a member of the group King & Prince, will make his film debut as the lead in the movie ‘Prism’, scheduled for release on March 5, 2027. The film follows Ritsu, a former dancer who, after suffering emotional trauma, returns to his hometown on Shodoshima Island and begins teaching dance to inmates as part of a rehabilitation program at a ‘prison without walls’.

The production features a cast of 13 inmates, including Kotaro Daigo, Takayoshi Goto, and Yukito Hidaka, all of whom shaved their heads for their roles and underwent two and a half months of dance training. The main choreography is provided by NOPPO of the dance group s**t kingz, who was Takahashi’s former instructor during his childhood.

Directed by Yuji Hariu in his feature film debut, the film’s script was written by Shota Gaito. Takahashi expressed his passion for the project, noting that he had long dreamed of starring in a dance-themed film and dedicated himself to intensive practice throughout the filming process.
